You can enter a cheat code by pausing the game and typing in the desired code. From teleporting to different locations to getting more lives, the options are infinite. And not to mention they give you a competitive advantage over other players. Additionally, the cheat codes allow a lot of customization options that simply cannot be mimicked by the retail version. If you know your way around these commands, you can pretty much get the original experience while also enjoying the updated graphics and engine optimizations.
Now with that being said, the remastered versions certainly have a lot going for them and the minor differences we have with the developers choices can easily be rectified via the command console and cheat codes. What’s not so welcome is the deviation from the core elements from the original trilogy including replacement of semi automatic wielded weapons with the wield paintball guns and whatnot. Now that stands true for the size and layouts of all the levels, but features like the graphics, engine mechanics and controls are modernized and updated to keep up with the newer titles and these quality of life improvements are definitely a welcome change. With pretty big shoes to fill, the newer version tries to stay true to its roots and features most of the same elements as in the original game.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a remaster of the original Spyro trilogy.
